A view towards Pisa and Livorno. On a clear day the sea can also be seen from Segale. The large swimming pool is just behind the house and measures 14 meters by 7 meters. It is completely private set amidst the extensive grounds of villa segale.

Segale is an 11th century stone farmhouse poised atop the most panoramic of sites with views from the Lucca plain to Pisa, Livorno and the sea and islands beyond.The property is comprised of 32 hectares of land; 3 of vineyard, 3 of olive grove and the remaining in deciduous woodland surrounding the house in a very private setting. It is difficult to imagine more stunning views than this picture taken behind the swimming pool; other than those during daylight.

This magnificent vacation property in Tuscany, can be found in the small hamlet of San Macario in Monte, Lucca. The house is approached from the local church via a short gravelled road through woodland, vinyards and olive groves. Segale, which is a few kilometers from the center of Lucca, has been producing its own olives and wines for centuries.

The five double bedrooms, 3 of which have double beds and 2 have twin beds, each have an en-suite bathroom and have south facing views. All the beds are hand built iron made by local craftsmen. Bathroom fittings are of the highest quality.
 

The ground floor is extremely spacious, with a large entrance hall, a beautiful antique dining table in the dining room and a large country kitchen. The floors and ceilings are antique cotto and traditional chestnut beams are evident througout. All the doors have been made from poplar wood, a traditional material used in the building of these Tuscan farmhouses. Also you will find many antiques also using poplar wood. Light fittings througout the house are all 19th century antique pieces, complimenting the other furnishings, to give you a feeling of quality craftmanship throughout.

The house possesses two outdoor patios where you can rest and relax while drinking in the magnificent surroundings. One on the front of the house which is connected to the sitting room and formal dining room, covered with a pergola of century old grape vines. The other is on the east side of the house with direct access from the kitchen , also covered with a pergola and newly planted grapevine. This patio has a large stone table with seating for 10, a built in b-b-q and a marble stone basin

At Villa Segale you can buy their well known Segale  wine, produced from their own vinyards, shown in the picture below, as viewed from the house, as well as their own olive oil produced from the local olive groves.
